Sirens at The Ferens spring 2023…
Sirens was re-presented at The Ferens, Hull in Spring 2023 as part of their Artist in Residence programme. Spanning three months, this opportunity gave us the chance to create new work, run workshops for local school pupils and to connect more deeply with our audiences.
First shown at Freedom Festival, Hull in summer 2022, Sirens is an audio visual installation that explores the view and treatment of women in global society, through the lens of ancient mythology. Created in partnership with Pan Intercultural Arts, the soundscape features the voices of The Amies Freedom Choir which is made up of female survivors of human trafficking. The haunting and beautiful vocals tell a story of strength, resilience and the power of song.
